Description

This Best Blueberry Vanilla Bean Lemonade blends sweet blueberries with fragrant vanilla bean paste and bright lemon juice into a smooth, lightly creamyโ€‘tasting lemonade with a warm, aromatic sweetness that makes the blueberry flavor feel richer and more rounded. The vanilla bean adds a subtle vanillaโ€‘pod speckled aroma that turns simple blueberry lemonade into a gourmetโ€‘style summer drink. You need just ten minutes to make this stunning blueberry vanilla lemonade.

Ingredients

1.5 cups fresh blueberries

1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4 lemons)

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste

1/4 cup honey or simple syrup (adjust to taste)

3 cups cold water

1 cup ice cubes

Fresh blueberries, lemon slices, and a sprinkle of vanillabean specks for garnish

Instructions

1. Add fresh blueberries into a highโ€‘speed blender and blend until completely smooth.

2. Strain the blueberry puree through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher and discard all seeds and solids.

3. Pour in fresh lemon juice and add lemon zest.

4. Add vanilla bean paste, honey or simple syrup, and cold water.

5. Stir everything together until well combined.

6. Taste and adjust sweetness, vanilla, or lemon juice as needed.

7. Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the lemonade over the ice, garnish with lemon slices and a light sprinkle of vanilla specks and serve immediately.

Notes

Vanilla bean paste gives a more intense aroma and speckled look than regular vanilla extract.

Ripe, deeply colored blueberries deliver the sweetest flavor and the most vibrant violet color.

Frozen blueberries work well here and are a great yearโ€‘round option.

Strain the blueberry puree thoroughly to remove all tiny seeds for the smoothest texture.

Store in the fridge for up to 2 days โ€” stir well before serving as natural separation occurs.
