Ingredients
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1 cup fresh or frozen blackberries
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4 lemons)
1 teaspoon lemon zest
3 tablespoons dried culinary lavender
1/3 cup honey or simple syrup (adjust to taste)
1/2 cup hot water (for lavender syrup)
3 cups cold water
1 cup ice cubes
Fresh blueberries, blackberries and lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
1. Add dried culinary lavender into a small bowl and pour hot water over it.
2. Add honey or simple syrup and stir until fully dissolved.
3. Steep for 10 minutes then strain out the lavender and let the syrup cool.
4. Add blueberries and blackberries into a high-speed blender and blend until completely smooth.
5. Strain the berry puree through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher and discard the solids.
6. Add fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, and the cooled lavender syrup into the pitcher.
7. Pour in cold water and stir everything together until well combined.
8. Taste and adjust sweetness or lemon as needed.
9. Fill glasses with ice, pour the lemonade over the ice, garnish with fresh berries and serve immediately.
Notes
Strain the berry puree thoroughly for the smoothest and most elegant lemonade texture.
Frozen berries work just as well as fresh and often give a more intense and concentrated flavor.
The deep purple color of this lemonade looks absolutely breathtaking in clear tall glasses.
Do not steep the lavender longer than 10 minutes or the syrup turns soapy and bitter.
Store the berry lavender base in the fridge for up to 2 days โ stir well before serving.
