Description

These Bisquick sausage balls are warm, cheesy little bites that come together in minutes. With crisp edges, soft centers, and rich sausage flavor, they’re perfect for brunch, parties, or a cozy snack from the oven. I love pairing them with creamy dips or sweet cranberry bites for the ultimate balance of comfort and flavor.

Ingredients

1 pound ground sausage (mild or spicy)

2 cups Bisquick baking mix

1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

½ cup milk (adjust as needed)

Optional Add-ins

2 tablespoons cream cheese (for extra richness)

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon dried parsley or chives

1 pinch cayenne or crushed red pepper (for heat)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix ingredients: In a large bowl, combine sausage, Bisquick mix, and cheddar cheese. Add milk a little at a time until the mixture comes together.
  3. Shape the dough: Roll into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Cool slightly before serving. They’ll stay tender inside with a light, crisp edge.

Notes

If the dough feels too dry, add a splash of milk or another handful of cheese.

To make sausage balls without Bisquick, use 2 cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and ½ teaspoon salt.

Try sausage balls with Red Lobster biscuits for a buttery, garlicky twist.
