Description
A creamy and aromatic Brazilian Lemonade with Vanilla made from fresh whole limes, cold water, and a touch of vanilla for a smooth, restaurant-style dessert drink.
Ingredients
3 medium limes, washed and quartered
4 cups cold water
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk (or sugar-free for a lighter version)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 cups ice cubes
Instructions
1. Add the quartered limes and cold water to a high-speed blender.
2. Pulse the mixture for exactly 10 to 15 seconds to release the lime juice and essential oils without pulling bitterness from the pith.
3. Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher or bowl, pressing gently to extract the juice, and discard the leftover lime solids.
4. Return the strained lime water to the rinsed blender.
5. Add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract, then add the ice cubes.
6. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and very frothy.
7. Serve immediately in chilled glasses.
Notes
Vanilla enhances the creamy, dessertโlike character of the drink without overpowering the lime.
If you prefer a lighter version, use a sugarโfree condensed milk or reduce the amount of sweetened condensed milk.
Do not overโblend the limes in the first step to keep the drink from turning bitter.
Serve immediately, as the lime oils can become more bitter if the drink sits too long.
