  • Author: danyrecipes
  • Total Time: 3 hrs 15 mins
  • Yield: 15 Servings

Description

A creamy, spicy slow cooker dip that feeds a crowd and stays warm all party long! Made with two rotisserie chickens, cream cheese, and Frank’s RedHot sauce. The ultimate Super Bowl appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 2 rotisserie chickens, shredded (or 4 cups cooked chicken)
  • 16 oz cream cheese (2 packages), softened
  • 3/4 cup Frank’s RedHot Original Sauce
  • 1/2 cup ranch dip or dressing
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles
  • Green onions for garnish
  • Tortilla chips, crackers, celery, and carrots for serving

Instructions

  1. Prep Ingredients: Shred your rotisserie chickens and soften the cream cheese. Have all ingredients measured and ready before starting.
  2. Layer the Base: Place the softened cream cheese in the bottom of a 4-6 quart slow cooker. Top with the shredded chicken.
  3. Add Sauce & Extras: Pour in the hot sauce, ranch dip, sour cream, and heavy cream. Stir everything together until combined and smooth.
  4. Add Cheese: Stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheese until combined. Let the cheese start to melt.
  5. Cook Low and Slow: Cover and cook on LOW for 2-3 hours until the dip is warm and bubbly around the edges. Stir occasionally.
  6. Switch to Warm: Once hot, switch the slow cooker to WARM setting to keep the dip at perfect serving temperature all evening.
  7. Serve: Top with blue cheese crumbles and green onions. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, celery, and carrots.

Notes

Make Ahead: Prepare the dip in the morning and store in the slow cooker insert in the fridge. Insert the base and turn on when guests arrive.

Oven Method: Mix everything in a large baking dish and bake at 350°F for 30-40 minutes until bubbly. Cover with foil to prevent drying.

Double Batch: Make two slow cookers for large parties instead of one.

Storage: Keep leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving again.
