Ingredients
- 8 oz fettuccine or penne pasta
- 1 lb (450g) crispy chicken tenders (frozen or homemade)
- 4 tbsp salted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Prep: Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water. Cook the chicken tenders according to package directions or pan-fry seasoned chicken breasts until golden.
- Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant (do not burn).
- Make Sauce: Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, whisking constantly until smooth.
- Simmer: Let the sauce simmer gently for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Add Cheese: Remove from heat. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic powder, and black pepper until melted and creamy.
- Combine: Toss the cooked pasta in the sauce. If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
- Serve: Top with sliced crispy chicken and extra Parmesan. Serve hot.
