Description
A fizzy, nostalgic Cherry Cola Crush Slushie made with frozen cherries, cola, a touch of lemon juice, and plenty of ice for a sweetโtart, sodaโlike frozen drink that tastes like a 7โEleven Cherry Slurpee turned into a homemade slushie.
Ingredients
2 cups frozen cherries (pitted)
1 1/2 cups cola (regular or caffeineโfree)
1/2 cup crushed ice or ice cubes
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1โ2 tablespoons honey or simple syrup (optional, if you prefer extra sweetness)
Instructions
1. Add the frozen cherries, cola, crushed ice, lemon juice, and honey or simple syrup (if using) to a highโspeed blender.
2. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and icy, scraping down the sides if needed.
3. If the slushie is too thick, add a splash more cola; if too thin, add a few more ice cubes and blend briefly.
4. Adjust sweetness by adding a little more honey or simple syrup to taste.
5. Pour immediately into chilled glasses, optionally garnished with a maraschino cherry or a lemon wedge for a retro sodaโshop look.
Notes
For a nonโcaffeinated version, use a caffeineโfree cola or cherryโflavored soda.
If you want a grownโup twist, add a splash of cherry liqueur or a shot of bourbon or dark rum before blending.
Serve right away, as the carbonation will fade quickly once the slushie warms up.
