Ingredients
Butter, onion, garlic, flour, broth, milk, broccoli florets, carrots, cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, nutmeg.
Instructions
Sauté onion and garlic in butter. Stir in flour to make a roux. Gradually add broth and milk, whisking until smooth. Add broccoli and carrots, simmer until tender. Stir in cheese until melted and creamy. Season and serve hot.
Notes
Add cauliflower for variety, or blend for a smoother texture. Great served with crusty bread or in a bread bowl.
