Description
A sweet, floral, and tropical Guava Brazilian Lemonade combining fresh limes, lush guava puree, and sweetened condensed milk for an incredibly creamy and refreshing summer drink.
Ingredients
3 medium limes, washed and quartered
1 cup guava puree or guava nectar
3 cups cold water
1/2 can (7 oz) sweetened condensed milk
2 cups ice cubes
Instructions
1. Add the quartered limes and cold water to a high-speed blender.
2. Pulse the mixture for exactly 10 to 15 seconds to extract the lime juice without drawing out the bitter oils from the pith.
3. Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher and discard the leftover lime solids.
4. Return the strained lime water to the rinsed blender.
5. Add the guava puree, sweetened condensed milk, and ice cubes.
6. Blend on high until smooth, beautifully pink, and frothy, then serve immediately in chilled glasses.
Notes
If using sweetened guava nectar instead of unsweetened puree, you may want to reduce the condensed milk slightly to taste.
Do not over-blend the limes in the first step, or the drink will become bitter.
Substitute sweetened condensed coconut milk for a dairy-free tropical version.
Serve immediately over ice, as the drink will separate and the lime peel oils can turn bitter if stored.
