Homemade Blueberry Strawberry Lemonade

  • Author: danyrecipes

Description

This Homemade Blueberry Strawberry Lemonade blends sweet blueberries with juicy strawberries and bright lemon juice into a rich, deepโ€‘colored lemonade with a beautifully balanced berry flavor where the sweetness of the strawberries and the jammy depth of the blueberries complement each other perfectly. The lemon adds a refreshing tartness that keeps the drink from tasting too heavy. This homemade lemonade is smooth, vibrant, and ready in just ten minutes.

Ingredients

1 cup fresh blueberries

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved

1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4 lemons)

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1/4 cup honey or simple syrup (adjust to taste)

3 cups cold water

1 cup ice cubes

Fresh blueberries, strawberry slices, and lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

1. Add blueberries and strawberries into a highโ€‘speed blender and blend until completely smooth.

2. Strain the berry puree through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher and discard all seeds and solids.

3. Pour in fresh lemon juice and add lemon zest.

4. Add honey or simple syrup and cold water.

5. Stir everything together until well combined.

6. Taste and adjust sweetness or lemon juice as needed.

7. Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the lemonade over the ice, garnish with fresh berries and lemon slices and serve immediately.

Notes

Use ripe blueberries and strawberries for the sweetest flavor and the most vivid jewelโ€‘toned color.

Frozen berries work well here and are a great option when fresh are not in season.

Doubleโ€‘strain the berry puree to remove all tiny seeds and fibrous bits for the smoothest texture.

This lemonade is best served immediately while the aroma and color are at their peak.

Store in the fridge for up to 2 days โ€” stir well before serving as natural separation occurs.
