Description
These Mini Caprese Skewers are fresh, colorful, and perfect as easy party appetizers. Juicy cherry tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil are drizzled with balsamic glaze for a simple yet elegant Italian bite everyone loves.
Ingredients
1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
8 oz mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine), drained
Fresh basil leaves
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1–2 tbsp balsamic glaze
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Optional: thin prosciutto slices, marinated olives, or cooked tortellini for variation
Instructions
Rinse tomatoes and pat dry. Drain mozzarella and toss lightly with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
On small skewers or toothpicks, thread one tomato, one folded basil leaf, and one mozzarella ball. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
Arrange on a serving platter and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
Chill 15–20 minutes before serving. Enjoy cold or at room temperature.
Notes
For extra flavor, use marinated mozzarella pearls.
Add cured meats or olives to turn them into charcuterie skewers.
Wait to drizzle glaze until just before serving to keep them shiny and fresh.
