Mixed Berry Blast Slushie

Description

A vibrant Mixed Berry Blast Slushie made with a trio of berries, a splash of citrusโ€‘y juice, and plenty of ice for a bright, fruityโ€‘frosted drink that tastes like a berryโ€‘flavor explosion turned into a slurpโ€‘able slushie.

Ingredients

1 cup frozen strawberries

1/2 cup frozen blueberries

1/2 cup frozen raspberries or blackberries

1 cup orange juice or lemonโ€‘lime soda

2โ€“3 tablespoons simple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)

3โ€“4 cups ice cubes

Instructions

1. In a highโ€‘speed blender, combine the frozen strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries (or blackberries) with the orange juice or lemonโ€‘lime soda.

2. Blend on medium speed until smooth and pulsed, scraping down the sides if needed.

3. Add the simple syrup or honey if using and blend again briefly to dissolve.

4. Add the ice cubes and blend on high until the mixture reaches a thick, slushie texture that clings to the sides of the glass.

5. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding a little more syrup or honey, or a splash more juice if itโ€™s too thick.

6. Serve immediately in chilled glasses, garnished with a few whole berries for a โ€œberry blastโ€ look.

Notes

For a smoother slushie, use all frozen berries; for a lighter texture, add a splash of sparkling water instead of soda.

You can turn this into a cocktail by adding a splash of vodka or berryโ€‘flavored liqueur before the final blend.

If the slushie is too thick, add a splash more juice or soda; if too thin, add more ice and blend briefly.
