Description

A tender, flavorful slow cooker beef and broccoli recipe with a rich, savory sauce. An easy homemade version of the takeout favorite that’s perfect for weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

1 ½ lbs flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced

3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

1 cup beef broth

½ cup low-sodium soy sauce

¼ cup brown sugar or honey

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

1 tbsp sesame oil

2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish


Instructions

  1. Whisk together soy sauce, broth, sugar, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Place beef in the slow cooker and pour sauce over it.
  3. Cook on low for 4–5 hours or until beef is tender.
  4. Stir in cornstarch slurry and add broccoli; cook 20–30 minutes more.
  5. Drizzle sesame oil over top and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

Add more veggies like bell peppers or mushrooms if desired.

For extra flavor, stir in a spoonful of oyster or hoisin sauce.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for 3 months.
